Damion Templeton, Viscount Woodhurst, needs a fiancée and fast. He receives a letter from his grandmother, the Dowager Countess of Croxton, informing him that she is dying. Damion wants to make the old woman happy before she passes, and wants to find a woman to be his pretend fiancée for the two-weeks his grandmother will be staying with him. It is her dearest wish that Damion be settled with a wife. Damion will give his loving grandmother what she wants, even if it is all an act on his part.
Sharol Louise has written an endearing and lovely Regency romance that is witty, funny, and special in its telling. The relationship between Alix and Damion builds in such a nice way from strangers to lovers. Their growing feelings for one another were a joy to read about. Even though Damion may seem a bit high-handed at times, he was always very respectful when it came to Alix. He handled her with tenderness, and because of that, she came to love him more than just as a friend.
Fans of traditional historical romance will not want to miss out on SECRET BRIDE. Sharol Louise has quite the talent for making sure those nasty characters get their just desserts, and the other characters who deserve happiness and love receive that tenfold.
